The UK’s recent spell of wintry weather reminds me of a story that my parents first told me when I was a boy.
It concerns the unusual set of circumstances leading up to the unprecedented freezing British winter of 1947, and how an Unnatural, whose name is familiar to us all, brought Britain to a standstill.
Back then, it was just another fantastic bedtime story, but over the years I came to appreciate that most fairy tales and legends have their origins in fact.
This report also introduces an old family friend and long time ally of the Guild - Sebastian Smyth - Time Traveller, Inventor, Adventurer, and Gentleman.
