The Devil's Cur (UN-B-3894)
Watts reluctantly fetched the giant hound from the barn bringing it before his neighbours. With the fresh meat of a recent feed still on his breath, the villagers were certain they had caught their rogue attacker.

Hesitantly Watts loaded his shotgun and raised the barrel to the loyal dog's head, and while whispering his apologies, closed his eyes and pulled the trigger, landing a bullet square between the dog's eyes.

Though the huge beast stumbled, it did not fall.

The huge hound licked at the blood that trickled down the side of its muzzle, slowly realising its betrayal at the hands of its master. With all the power it could muster, in it's failing trembling legs, the hound launched forward at Watts, knocking him to the ground.
